Our History

It was early July 2014 when Rev. Julian Guzman and a few other family members gathered to pray for what soon became Iglesia Vida Plena (Whole Life Church).  It was officially founded as a ministry on August 24, 2014 when we celebrated our first public service at our current location with the lead pastor’s family and a few other guests.

The church, currently located in the city of Wyoming, Michigan, was born after nearly twenty years of gestation. The lead pastors – Rev. Julian and Marina Guzman – had served during this time at the Council of Missionary Churches of Christ, Inc. in difference capacities with the Pentecostal Hispanic organization. His passion for healthy organizational leadership practices and sound theological foundation led pastors Julian and Marina to launch their vision of a community of faith that is appealing to every age group.

Iglesia Vida Plena is a different and renovated charismatic expression of The Church. It focuses on balancing the Christian life and becoming healthier and more faithful reflection of the Kingdom values. At IVP the children and youth are not invisible but treasured and cared. Love and forgiveness are our way of life; we pay the highest respect to each other as we move towards a deeper intimacy with Jesus Christ.

Iglesia Vida Plena successfully  joined the Church of God (Anderson, IN) in the summer of 2016. We have now become its 101st congregation in the State of Michigan with consistent regular attendance of seventy – almost tripled since the start.

We have now completed the formation process of the youth’s ministry and the children’s ministry. Our praise and worship ministry, under the associate pastors Ewdyn and Aridia Guzman, continues to lead us to the presence of God with amazing and anointed contemporary music. There are other programs in which IVP actively participates, such as Family Leadership Initiative (FLI) and the Hispanic Ministry Certificate, in partnership with Gatherings of Hope from the DeVos Foundation.

New developments are emerging in face to the future. IVP has also completed an ambitious ten-year strategic plan that is full of excitement and commitment to join God in His mission and purpose for our needy community.
